MRIO Comparison | Confidence

The figures on this page provide a snapshot comparison between four global MRIO models: Eora, WIOD, EXIOPOL, and GTAP. A figure is provided for every country covered by at least two models. WIOD and Eora are available as timeseries (1995-2010, and 1990-2010, respectively) while EXIOPOL is available for year 2000 and GTAP for both 2004 and and 2007.

Five top-level results for each country are compared:

• GDP
• Imports ($US)
• Exports ($US)
• CO₂^prod - territorial emissions
• CO₂^cons - consumption-based inventory

Reported territorial Scope 1 emissions vary between the models, by ≅ ±10%. This variation is a signficiant factor in divergence of Scope 3 results between models.

Given the importance of these macro-economic totals and the fact that in most models these data are actually used as constraints we hope to see strong agreement between the models on these values.
