Country Coverage

This JSON file contains the countries covered in Eora2: countries.json Note that different data providers do not always use the same 3-letter codes. To help you link country names to Eora2 country codes we provide the country_looup.txt country name variants file provided below.

This file offers approximately 1000 common name variants for the Eora2 countries: country_lookup.txt

Some region membership definitions (OECD, G7, Western Europe, etc.) are provided here: regionmembership.csv

Industry and commodity classifications

Three types of input-output tables are used in Eora2:

• CIOT: commodity-by-commodity IO table
• IIOT: industry-industry IO table
• SUT: supply-use table

Each country uses a national classification system or a standard 25-sector classification system. The 25 sector classification system has been developed as a "lowest common denominator" classification and is a custom system. It follows the Harmonized System (HS) scheme but is a new classification. It assumes that each industry is synonymous with a commodity (e.g. "Agriculture" is both an industry and a set of commodities). For countries using a Supply-Use table different classifications systems are often used for Commodities and Industries. We are not able to provide concordances or detailed sector definitions for classifications.

Classification for Primary Inputs and Value Added

Every country uses the same 6 sectors for both primary inputs and final demand. These follow the UN System of National Accounts (SNA). They are as follows:
